Growing up, if a girl takes on a leadership role, she’s often called stubborn, b*tchy, and bossy. While a male counterpart who exhibits the same characteristics is praised for his leadership abilities.

Thankfully, more and more women are owning their entrepreneurial spirit. And Hollywood along with some of the most powerful women in the US are joining the movement in video released by Lean In, who partnered with the Girl Scouts of America, called #BanBossy.

The campaign encourages teachers, parents, girl scout troop leaders, women and more to view these girls as confident, instead of in a negative light.

While I wish there was more of this stuff when I was kid as I was constantly called bossy, it’s so refreshing to see quality role models standing up for the young female leaders of today.
